The Academy production of HAMLET, Adapted & directed by Shelly Hudson and co-produced by The Performer’s Playground, ran on June 9th and 10th 2017. It would go on to be nominated for four 2017 New Hampshire Theatre Awards including Best Director, Best Production, Best Male Actor In A Youth Production and Best Support Male In A Youth Production. It went on top three in all categories and a win in the Best Male Actor In A Youth Production, a win for AMP Alumni David Stark and the entire cast.
The production was set at the fictional HAMLET CORP Building, which housed family business and dynasty in the year 2024. The aesthetic for the show was Neo-Noir and there was even a functioning elevator door. The show was produced on a sandwich stage which had actors in the middle with audience on two sides.
