Seeking Actors for Amplified Arts’ Fall Production of ‘Pride and Prejudice’
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
The Amplified Arts creative team, which brought you the breathtaking production of Austen’s EMMA in 2022, the award-winning runs of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet in 2023, and Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler in 2024, is excited to announce auditions for our next production.
In honor of Jane Austen’s 250th birthday, we would like to invite you to join us in creating the wonderful world of Pride and Prejudice.
Auditions
We encourage actors of all ethnicities, races, gender identity, ages, sexual orientations, abilities, and experience level to audition. We believe that the arts should reflect the diversity of the world we live in. All roles are available to any actor.
When gender is included in a character list or description, it refers only to the characters’ gender identity/presentation as scripted and not that of the performer.
There are two options for our auditions, you are welcome to attend either or both.
In Person Audition:
June 8th at 3PM. This will be located at Camp Thorpe, 680 Capen Hill Rd, Goshen VT 05733.
Video Submission:
Submit a self tape of your prepared monologue to this form or to
amplifiedartsnh@gmail.com. Please prepare a monologue as described below.
Include a slate with your name, address, and location.
Self tape tips:
Film in a well lit area and in front of as clear a background as possible. Natural light works great!
We’d love to hear as much of your voice as possible, please keep any background noise as quiet as possible.
Please film in landscape mode. A phone camera works wonderfully.
What to prepare for your audition:
A 1 minute monologue in the style of the show. This does not need to be memorized.
A headshot or recent photo and a resume, should you have one.
Please note: We are not looking for specific accents at this time.
Rehearsals:
Regular rehearsals will begin at the end of August and will be based on actors’ schedules.
Once casting concludes in June, we will have a virtual table read and will be scheduling a few virtual rehearsals over the summer to focus on character work and lines.
Available roles for this production are listed below.
Please note that some doubling is possible based on turnout.
